Energy portfolio management follows the same principles as traditional capital management. The difference is that NEF´s managed assets are invested in energy commodities as opposed to stocks.
Energy Portfolios as conducted by NEF is currently focused on the European power markets and the oil and gas markets. NEF´s philosophy is to create value for our clients by identifying and investing in outstanding energy traders. Such investment managers typically trade derivatives products enabling profit making on volatility and price movements in either direction.
NEFs Multi Manager funds invests in energy traders with a proven rack record and with a substantial amount of money invested alongside that of NEF. We invest in decisive and responsive smaller organisations. Selecting investment managers involves a rigorous screening process and thorough evaluation. Extensive, qualitative analysis of the manager’s strategies is a key factor in determining our investment.
Interkraft Energy Fund uses a quantitative, systematic model approach to investing. The fund may take positions in Nordic power, German power and emission contracts as well as natural gas and the crude oil complex.
